Experimental Cookery Tuesday #39: Evolution Carrot Salad

I wasn't expecting much from the carrot salad, except perhaps to grate another nasty hole into my thumb. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised on both counts.

The carrot salad turned out to be a real winner. I think the key move here was the addition of clementines to the whole, which was an unexpected hit. The combination of the goat's cheese and the toasted seeds also worked very well - for the first time, the goat's cheese represented a positive addition to the whole.

So, that would be a win, bringing the tally to 3-3 in salads. Next week, I'm pondering "The Philosophy of a Great Salad, Pick-and-Mix Style". It's all very zen.

My opinion is that the mindless inanity of "lovin' salads" does not detract from an otherwise excellent book.

But I do appreciate your more quantitative approach.

PS word verification "grato"... I think blogger might have cottoned on to the fact that people like it when they get a word verification that is in some way appropriate to the post, and as a result they have in some way altered the random generator to take its seed from the post... I will research this and report back.
